I have been considering trying this for a while now. Recently, someone made this same suggestion in a comment on my photography YouTube channel. I took it as a voice from the algorithm gods. :)
I’m going out later today to shoot three images. Yes. You read that right. Three. Just three.
Only three.
I have a church that I’ve wanted to photograph for my black and white church project. Typically, I just take my Leica Q2 Monochrom and shoot these churches hand held. Today will be different.
I’m going to take one image with the Leica Q2M, another with the Canon R with the 28-70mm lens, and a third with my iPhone 16 Pro Max set at 28mm on the main lens.
I want to edit those three images in Lightroom and see if there is a noticeable difference between converting color images to black and white. I also want to see what all is involved in each.
So my YouTube video will include all parts of the editing process, with those three images at the end. Viewers will be able to tell me which one they think they like best, or, as I suspect will be the case, if there is no noticeable difference.
And, of course, the video will have been recorded, edited, and posted by the time this written post goes up. That’s why you can see it displayed above. :)
Awesome opossum. I look forward to that video.
I’m voting for door number one.
You had the best cumulus clouds in that photo.
The position, size and shape of clouds really complement the black and white photo.
